The cabin was illuminated by hundreds of sea creatures, making the vast organ shine and sparkle. Occasionally, a drip would fall from the ceiling, catch the light like a jewel and vanish on the floorboards. The silence was absolute save for the reassuring plops as the cycle repeated itself. The gargantuan tentacles flailed wildly, snatching men off deck to a watery grave. The cannons thundered again, severing several tentacles but it only made the beast attack with more fury, the sea foaming as it thrashed. Norrington hacked at one of the browsing appendages, slicing it cleanly in two as he fought his way back to the helm, ignoring the warm trickle of blood coming from his head, staining his uniform.
